Slams or Tournify?
It depends on what you want to build.
Tournify is built for tournaments and leagues with groups and knockouts. Slams is built to keep players engaged all season long, with ladders, ratings and challenges. That is a different goal.
The fundamental difference
Tournify solves a logistics problem: how do I run a tournament or league, set up groups and a bracket, and process results? It does that well. If you mostly play groups and knockouts, Tournify is a solid choice.
Slams solves a different problem: how do I make sure my members play twice a week instead of twice a year? For that you need ratings that feel personal, challenges that create urgency, and a platform that gives players a reason to come back.
A tournament lasts a weekend. A season lasts months. Slams is built to keep players coming back all season.
